Hazarder are a Sludge/Doom/Stoner Metal Band from Belgrade, Serbia

Radivojewitch - g,v

Hazarder are a hard-hitting Sludge/Stoner Metal Band heavily influenced by SLEEP, Motorhead, KYUSS and High On Fire. Their blend of Sludge/Stoner Metal music is a thrilling blast of top-notch riffs from start to finish.

This is sublime Sludge/Stoner Metal of the highest order. The cool album cover will no doubt throw a few people as from the looks of it your not expecting a Sludge/Stoner Metal album. But more a Power Metal/Fantasy Metal album.

But it’s anything but. It’s another brilliant Sludge/Stoner Metal band that has came out nowhere to throw down the gauntlet as one of the best bands to check out right now.

Hazarder’s debut album – Against His-Story, Against Leviathan! – is a an 7 song and 44 minute journey of outstanding Sludge/Stoner Metal riffs that will draw you in from the start.

The first track – Heat Of Darkness is a 1:20 minute quiet instrumental track that is wisely put at the start. As after that the album comes to life with heavy pounding riffs that never lets up to the dying seconds.

Up next is the awesome title track which shows what this band will be doing to your heart and soul for the next 42 minutes or so. Playing hard-hitting riffs with superb grizzled vocals to match.

This 5:41 minute blast has shades of early Mastodon to it before venturing into a more Sludge/Stoner Metal feel. Throw in Motorhead style speed metal carnage with Sleep type dynamics then you will have a picture what Hazarder are all about.

They still bring their own style of Sludge/Stoner Metal to the scene by playing awesome fast-paced riffs to stand out from the crowd.

Hazarder stick to the same template for the remaining 5 tracks and it works brilliantly well in their favour. You now know what to expect until the very end. And it’s a journey you will be looking forward to take.

Hazarder are excellent musicians who are led by an excellent vocalist who has a mighty fine impressive set of lungs on him. It’s also cool they are extremely talented song-writers as well, as all of the songs from this great album are amazing songs that any top-notch Sludge/Stoner Metal band would be proud to call their own.

If you want a hybrid of High On Fire, Mastodon, Motorhead and Sleep but still oozing with originality then look no further as Hazarder are your band.

Other great songs to check out is Fertile Crescent, New Order Of The Ages and my fave – the 9 minute epic – Scorpipium which is the track that show’s what Hazarder is all about.

I only received this album to review the other day which I kindly thank the band for and I am well into double figures listening to it. It never gets boring. You find different things why to love this album each and every time you listen to it.

It’s brilliantly produced and played by all involved. Everyone deserves a big pat on the back for creating this amazing album. You know our rule on Sludgelord is we only publish the good stuff and this is as good as it gets for a debut album.

I can’t rate it highly enough. This will definitely be on my best records of 2012 list. It’s seriously that great. The band are looking for a record company to release this physically. They shouldn’t have that much trouble finding a cool record label to release it as this will go down a storm with the Sludge/Stoner Metal crowd.

If Hazarder manage to release this on CD and Vinyl then I will be first in the queue buying a copy. As this record deserves a place in every Sludge/Stoner Metal fan’s record collection.

This is the perfect album to convert any newcomer to the realm of Sludge/Stoner Metal. It showcases the genres brilliantly and highlights why we love the genres so much. Riffs, Great Vocals and Even more riffs. What more can you ask for.

Amazing. End Of and Highly Recommended.
